AudioRefine — Privacy

Speech enhancement runs on your Mac using the model included in the app. AudioRefine does not upload your recordings for processing, run an inference backend, require an AudioRefine account, or include an analytics/advertising SDK.

Apple’s App Store services handle product prices, purchases, restores and purchase-status verification. These services may contact Apple and use your Apple Account. Your media is not part of a StoreKit purchase request. macOS file providers such as iCloud may have their own networking; download recordings locally before using them offline.

Local data
• Recent recording references and security-scoped bookmarks are saved locally when Remember Recent Recordings is enabled. Turn this off or Clear Recents in Settings to remove them.
• Temporary decoded audio and preview files are kept locally while needed. Changing files releases old preparation data; Release Audio Cache removes the current preview/prepared audio. Completed exports are never deleted by clearing caches.
• The loaded model is released after two idle minutes unless you disable that preference.
• A local trial-clock checkpoint is stored in your Mac’s keychain. Purchase rights come from Apple-verified transactions, not a local “unlocked” preference. Apple manages its transaction cache. Local clock checks are not a tamper-proof licensing service.
• Export queue rows exist for the current session. Clear Finished removes their in-app references, not exported files. The queue is not restored after quitting.

Diagnostics are optional. You can inspect and save a small report yourself; AudioRefine does not send it automatically. Reports exclude recordings, filenames, file paths, Apple Account information, transaction identifiers, receipts and secrets. You decide whether and where to share a saved report.

Completion notifications are off by default. If enabled, they show aggregate export counts, not recording filenames. AudioRefine does not request microphone or screen-recording permission for file cleanup.

Purchases/restores require Apple connectivity; an already-verified cached entitlement and the bundled model support offline processing. Refund/revocation updates are learned when Apple’s purchase services make them available; instant offline revocation is not promised.
